Natural hair benefits most from natural products as too much chemicals can cause permanent damage to fragile kinky hair. So save your hair, and save money as well, by choosing a homemade hair treatment for your kinky curly hair. Below are seven tried and tested natural hair treatments that you can include your hair care routine.

1. Mix 1 mashed avocado with 1 cup coconut milk and 1 tbsp honey.

Apply this to freshly shampooed hair, leave for 30 minutes to 1 hour then rinse as usual. This coconut milk treatment is rich in fatty acids and protein which conditions and strengthens hair. The coconut milk can also restore shine and softness to dry, damaged curly hair.

2. Using a blender, mix 1 banana with 5 tablespoons oil, 1 egg and a few tablespoons of milk.

Soak hair in this homemade natural hair treatment mixture for 15-30 minutes then rinse hair with conditioner afterwards. The natural oils and vitamins in bananas can help restore hair’s elasticity therefore breakage and split ends will be prevented.

3. Mix 1 egg yolk with 1 tablespoon jojoba oil and 1 mashed avocado then massage the mixture to scalp and hair and leave for 20 minutes before rinsing with conditioner.

Avocados can instantly and effectively nourish dry, brittle hair. The protein, vitamins and amino acids in this mixture can promote stronger and shinier hair.

4. Blend together ½ cup yogurt with 1 raw papaya.

This homemade hair treatment paste must be applied onto hair and scalp and leave for 15-30 minutes covered. The enzymes in papaya can naturally cleanse your hair from residues and product buildup. This can also maintain the natural shine and softness of curly hair.

5. The combination of one egg, 2-3 tbsp of whole mayonnaise, 1 tsp olive oil, and 2 tsp honey can result to a protein-rich hair treatment.

Apply onto hair, cover with plastic and leave on for 1-2 hours. Honey, being a humectant, can draw in moisture out of hair. The eggs and mayo are rich in protein which strengthens brittle curly hair. Olive oil is in charge of moisturizing, facilitating proper hair growth, and adding shine to hair.

6. Achieve the length you want by using this natural hair treatment made of herbs to stimulate black hair growth.

Sage, rosemary, green tea, ginseng, lavender, parsley, aloe, nettle, and ginkgo biloba are among the herbs that you can boil and steep. Use the mixture as a shampoo or as an herbal rinse. These herbs can reduce hair growth, improve circulation in the scalp, stimulate hair follicle growth and nourish hair.

7. Detangle hair using this lubricating homemade conditioner.

Blend 1 overripe avocado, ½ cup unrefined shea butter, ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil (EVOO), and 2-3 tbsp apple cider vinegar (ACV_. Apply this mixture to hair and let sit for half an hour to 45 minutes under a shower cap. Detangle then rinse as usual. This thick and heavy natural hair treatment benefits thick and dense kinky curly hair with major shrinkage. The acid in ACV flattens the cuticles for easier detangling while the fatty acids in the avocado and olive oil and the emollient properties of shea butter provide enough lubrication.

Mix your own natural products using these easy-to-make and inexpensive recipes. Some of these natural hair treatments may also be used as detangling treatments for ONYC kinky curly hair extensions. These are gentle enough for your natural hair as well as for your hair extensions.
